Free times tables worksheets (2 to 12)
Children learn their times tables over three school years. In Year 2 they learn the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. In Year 3 they add the 3, 4 and 8 times tables, and by the end of Year 4 they are expected to know every table up to 12 × 12.
There is a sheet here for every table, each with multiplication, division and missing-number questions in a mixed order, plus mixed practice and a practice sheet for the Year 4 multiplication tables check.
Children learn the 2, 5 and 10 times tables in Year 2, the 3, 4 and 8 in Year 3, and all tables up to 12 × 12 by the end of Year 4, when there is a short online check.

In June of Year 4, children in England take a short online check: 25 questions, with 6 seconds to answer each one, on tables up to 12 × 12. There is no pass mark. Quick recall matters more than working out, so a few minutes of practice most days helps more than one long session a week.
Questions parents ask
In what order should my child learn the times tables?
Follow the school order: 2, 5 and 10 first, then 3, 4 and 8, then 6, 7, 9, 11 and 12. Each new table builds on one they know: the 4s are double the 2s, and the 8s are double the 4s.
How can I tell if my child really knows a table?
Ask facts out of order and both ways round, such as 7 × 6 and 6 × 7, and include division, such as 42 ÷ 6. If the answer comes back within a few seconds without counting up, the fact is secure.
Are these worksheets free?
Yes. Every sheet is free to print, with no sign-up or email, and the answers print on their own page.
